Can’t Find TJ
Listen - TJ hasn’t been back to claim his ticket. So Dwayne, if yer still interested send me your address. I read on another blog that you were told to hook Nigeria up with $25,000. Did you make that up!
Colleen, thanks for the Crispy Crunch’s. So sweet.
I’m back home for a bit and it’s all fallish and leave rakish at my house. I’m retreating from the road for a bit. I hope to do a show in NYC at Carolines in December with my old pal Bonnie Mcfarlane. I mean Bonnie Voss as she just got married. Bonnie and have known each other for years. It goes way back to our young years in Vancouver - when comedy was just a twinkle in our eyes.
Bonnie just married a comic called Rich Voss. They’re on the road, performing together. Together twenty four hours a day doing it comedian couple style. When they first got together Hedberg’s first response was “If they think they’re gonna out comedy -couple us…..they’ve got another thing comin’”.
Whenever Mitch and I hung with a person from my pre-Hedberg period he would observe me as I joked and gossiped and bantered. He would look at my eyes and see them light up with excitement or watch my mouth play with the happy sarcasm I share with old pals. He’d drink it in, frightened to taint it with too much input from himself.
“You’re really funny around girls” he’d say. “Have I taken you from everybody?”
When lovers work together and travel together as in comedians, so much time is spent…together. I remember saying “Is it healthy that we spend so much time together? Don’t the books say that couples are supposed be apart more”
“Do you like hanging with me?”
“Yeah. Totally”. I said
“Well then. Me too”.
I guess it’s that simple sometimes.
